Custom Dials and Decals

Radio Daze also provides the ability to do custom dials and decals. Currently we are working on many dials and decals that we currently produce on our dial and decal list. As we build up more custom work, we will show it off in this area. We are very excited about this offering and look forward to building this offering over the upcoming years!!

Our new printing abilities allows us to print on a wide variety of material and thicknesses.

Currently we can print flat glass dials (up to 16.5 inches long).

We are working on the following:

1. Phenolic Dials - We have found the material and working on production. We will in the near future be providing all phenolic dials on phenolic material.

A quick note on Phenolic: Phenolic is a chemical and organic made compound. It is a light harvest gold color, called natural color. All phenolic dials were made of natural color phenolics. Unfortunately many people dont know is that Phenolic due to its chemical composition is very sensitive to UV Light as well as it has oxidation properties. Due to this many people have phenolic dials that are "brown", "dark orange", "dark yellow" and multiple shades of "tan". Those colors ARE NOT the original color of the dial. We are working on a simple way to lightly darken the color of the natural phenolic - however please know that what you see in a radio from 1930 (for example) and the reproduction will not match due to the 70+ years of aging, oxidation and UV Light exposure. 

2. We are working on metal (aluminum, steel, misc. metal) dials. Many table top radios have a metal dial plate, we are currently getting the formula to do this down with our new printing process

3. We are working on the ability to reprint on chassis panels, etc. Those wonderful Hallicrafters, Hammerlund, Collins, etc. sets that have flat printed panels we will be able to do shortly. We also will be looking at many other flat panel applications (guitar amp panels, HiFi Audio Panels, etc). So if you have a need in this area please let us know.
