COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO ANTIQUE RADIOS
SEVENTH EDITION

  About The Seventh Edition.

There were several goals for this seventh edition of The Collector’s Guide to Antique Radios. Certainly first and foremost was the updating of any pricing to reflect changes that have occurred over the past several years since the last edition.  Overall, the center points of pricing have been generally stable. However, with the increased influence of auction sites such as eBay, the resulting range of valuations has widened in most cases. Values of certain rare or unique pieces have seen some meaningful changes.

The actual number of distinct antique radio models designed in the United States will never be precisely known. Based upon manufacturers' documentation and advertising, our guess would be at least thirty thousand and perhaps many more.  Our focus has been on listings based upon ongoing exposure to models and brands that may well confront the collector community. In this edition, we have added 14 new brands and the total listings have grown to around 10,350. We have continued to fill in any missing specific model data on previous listings as it becomes know.

An ongoing goal is to continue to add even more color photo illustrations within the practical limits of overall size and cost. This edition has approximately 1200 photos, an increase of 15% over the last edition.

Our format for this edition has been modified to improve the correlation between listings and photos. First, all radios listed in this edition will be found in sequential order in the listings. If there is also a photo of any given radio, that radio's listing is highlighted and also indicates the page upon which the photo is found.
