COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO ANTIQUE RADIOS
FIFTH EDITION

The fifth edition of the Collector's Guide to Antique Radios is the first edition written by new authors. While similar in general format to past editions and based in part upon the excellent prior work done by Marty and Sue Bunis, this edition provides a substantial amount of new information. The content and format of each radio listing have been reviewed in order to be as detail consistent as possible. The goal was to provide the radio style (console, table, etc.), year of initial market introduction, case material (wood, plastic, etc.), an identifying description, the number of knobs, types of reception (AM broadcast band, FM, etc.), the number of tubes, and the type of power utilized (AC, battery, etc.) for each listing. While specific detail for some radios could not be determined, a great deal of research has been done to provide as much detail as possible. In addition, pricing ranges have been reviewed and updated where appropriate to reflect current market conditions.

This edition also contains additional radio listings and photographs not found in prior editions.  Of particular note is the completely new section on the radios of E.H. Scott, who manufactured some of the most sophisticated, highest quality, and most expensive radios of the 1930's and 1940's. Scott radios are some of today's most highly collectible sets.
